Research
EC2M is a team of the laboratory Gulliver. The team, composed of three permanent researchers Olivier Dauchot, Teresa Lopez-Leon and Mathilde Reyssat, welcomes numerous PhD students and postdocs. The main research themes of EC2M concern the structural and / or dynamic organization of soft matter. Our main systems of interest are granular media, colloidal suspensions, emulsions, liquid crystal shells, polymer capsules and ... megakaryocites.
We are particularly interested in
- active matter,
- self-assembly of liquid crystal shells,
- the glass transition and jamming of granular media and colloidal suspensions,
- the formation and mechanics of polymer interfaces in microfluidic geometry.
Our research is mainly of fundamental nature, but can find numerous applications, for example in the production of blood platelets in microfluidic geometry, or in the study of the flow properties of industrial suspensions. The team relies on MMN’s micro-fluidic expertise and interacts strongly with PCT theorists.
